BLACKBOOK 04 is dedicated to the Düsseldorf writer EKSIT and opens up a view of more than three decades of uncompromising train and street writing. As part of the city's second graffiti generation, EKSIT is representative of a notorious life model: never stop, never slow down, unless external circumstances force it. For him, writing is an outlet, pressure equalization and parallel reality - a constant that continues to this day.

The material for this book could have filled thousands of pages. RED TOWER has curated 550 images from private blackbooks and archives, supplemented by texts by EKSIT himself and classifications by scene voices such as MARK TODT, AGIT, FUME, LEEDS, ROY, MICKEY, JAKE, UNIT and OPAK. The focus is on tempo, adaptation and the typical letter economy of a writer whose style was formed early on through speed and environment - legible, recognizable, unique.

BLACKBOOK 04 is therefore more than an archive. It is a piece of writing biography from the 1990s to the present day, a rarely clear look at a practice that has been carried out over decades and a document for all those interested in the long haul in graffiti - without pathos, without pause.
